STEVENS INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY

Project Key Goals:

  • Develop a program that meets the needs for an engineering lab.

  • Balances the university values with the community.

  • Provide a campus presents along the Hudson River.

  • Mindfulness of design, budget, and quality. Maximize design results.

The program was created to accommodate a new engineering lab that focused on sustainable methods for the construction industry.

Design Concept – Focused on academics and creating a sense of community between the university and local community. The engineering lab is not only about the technical experiments, but the social one as well. By creating a public urban space that the university and community can use for class gathering or simple enjoying the views of New York City.
